We are open to serve you, answer questions or schedule an appointment during the following hours:
Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Scheduling
Technical adjustments can be made very quickly, so these appointments are scheduled throughout the day. If your appointment happens to fall during school/work hours, we will be happy to provide you with a written medical excuse.
Longer appointments are reserved for the morning hours so an entire afternoon is not dedicated to only a few appointments. This allows us to accommodate as many patients and their families as possible without interfering with school.
We understand that unforeseen events may occur, which may require you to reschedule or miss your appointment. To accommodate you, we will offer you the first appointment available as well as put your name on the cancellation list in case a more convenient time becomes open.
We respect and value your time and strive to stay on time, and we ask that you extend the same courtesy to us by arriving early or on time for your appointment. This allows us to effectively and efficiently serve you and our other patients. If you arrive late, we may not be able to complete your work or have to reschedule your appointment for another time. If you know you will be late, please call our office to make appropriate arrangements.
Your First Visit: The Initial Orthodontic Examination
During your initial visit, we will perform a visual evaluation of your overall tooth alignment and bite. We encourage parents and patients to ask questions about your concerns and treatment options. We promise to speak candidly with you about your symptoms, treatment options, alternative treatment options and our recommendations. We will also review your medical and dental history that you would have already completed on our questionnaire.
Your Second Visit: Diagnostic Records
Your second visit will be for gathering diagnostic records. Often times, it can be done immediately following the first appointment. During this time, we will take digital photographs, X-rays and impressions of the teeth. Dr. Nordberg will be able to use this information to create a personalized treatment plan that will be suitable for your needs and desires.
Your Third Visit: Treatment Plan Consultation
After a complete review of your diagnostic records, Dr. Nordberg will discuss your treatment options with you thoroughly. In addition, he will discuss the results you can expect for your treatment, as well as the benefits of treatment. He will also go over the estimated cost of treatment and payment options available.
Regular Appointments
The appointment where your braces or expanders are put on is referred to as your "start-up appointment". Generally, this appointment takes from one to two hours. From then on, we will see you every 4 to 8 weeks for adjustments, which can take 20-40 minutes. We see patients by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments are made 4 to 8 weeks in advance.
